The Thorndon Wesleyan Church

The Thorndon Wesleyan Church, Molesworth Street, Wellington, was built in 1873, services having been held in the locality for some time previously. The building is of wood, and furnishes seating accommodation for 240 worshippers. Behind the church there is a large schoolroom, where about 220 Sunday scholars congregate. The school is an active and prosperous organisation, which is supplemented by a capital Christian Endeavour Society and a strong Band of Hope. The Wesleyan Church holds services at Johnsonville, Kaiwarra, and Wadestown, and these places are included in the pastorate of the Thorndon Church.
