Marshall, William Swainson, Farmer, “Te Hekenga,” Hinau, near Pemberton. Mr. Marshall, who has owned this property for twenty-seven years, was one of the pioneer settlers of the district. Nearly 5000 sheep are shorn every year, and a herd of 200 head of shorthorns also grazes on the run. A son of the late Major Marshall, Mr. Marshall was born in 1852 at Kaiwarra, where he was educated. He is a member of the Masonic craft, and takes a keen interest in all public matters. Mr. Marshall is married to a daughter of Mr. W. J. Swainson, and has two daughters.
