Mr. John Maginnity, J.P., the well-known wine and spirit merchant was first returned to the Council in September, 1877, and he held a seat at the civic board for saver, years altogether. Mr. Maginnity has not taken part in the government of the city since September, 1884, when he vacated his seat.
