The Maori Contingent, reorganised as a Pioneer Battalion after its Gallipoli service, consisted of the following:—

The South Sea Islands troops enlisted for service with the New Zealanders were:—
Niué (Savage Island) natives—February 6th, 1916 | 148 |
Rarotonga and other Cook Islands natives—first draft February 6th, 1916 | 50 |
Rarotongans—second draft, November 16th, 1916 | 115 |
Rarotongans—third draft, June 3, 1918 | 145 |
