Home to Coronation

page 27

Home to Coronation.

"How pleased is every paltry elf
To prate about that thing, himself."

Churchill.

To far away England I'll go,
Westminster is my destination;
For in crowning the King they have formed a big ring
And I'm in, for I love speculation.
The process would not be complete
Without me, the Doctor of Isis,
To assure the old land
That New Zealand will stand
At her side when it comes to the crisis.

"Uneasy lies the King when falls the Ace."

Chorus:
So we're off to the great Coronation,
We'll be subjects of great admiration,
New Zealand will know
Not a knight but Lord Joe
When we're back with our own little nation.

To Findlay my friend I must show
A token of my estimation,
For his faithful support, I'll present him at Court,
And he'll share in the honours creation.
A Baronet proud, or a Knight,
An example of patience rewarded,
And he'll show you the way
How you may all some day
Be at home when the palm is awarded.
Chorus:

Imperial defence is my book,
For unity must be created
With ourselves and the land of our forefathers grand,
Or Old England may be decimated.
Protection I'll nail to the mast—
As the maker of surpluses famous—
And with Chamberlain Joe
All freetraders I'll show,
That their policy never shall shame us.
Chorus:
