Bonjour La France

for Peter Black

As willows weep and lilies pose,
I see the artist's landscape decompose,

I see standers and waiters escape their fate,
I see a whole continent looking away

I see the light betray Jesus
and Cool Water Woman,

and because the lens reflects
your fine grey sense

I see the hand of circumstance
everywhere. Bonjour la France.
