Born in Hollymount, County Mayo, 29 September 1837. He married Ellen Moran on 29 July 1859 in Kilmaine RC Parish, Co Mayo Ireland. She was the daughter of Catherine and William Moran. Michael and Ellen had 12 children – 7 sons and 5 daughters. [Information supplied by descendants]
