Hitiri Te Paerata
(Ngati-Raukawa and Ngati-te-Kohera, West Taupo)
Hitiri and his sister Ahumai were the only survivors of their family at Orakau. Their father, the old chief Te Paerata, was killed in the retreat on the 2nd April, 1864.
