Paula Green lives in Bethells Valley, West Auckland, with her partner, artist Michael Hight, and their two children. She is the author of five poetry collections published by Auckland University Press that include a collection for children entitled Flamingo Bendalingo (2006) and the recent Making Lists For Frances Hodgkins. Paula was the University of Auckland’s 2005 Literary Fellow. During that year, she curated ‘Poetry on the Pavement’ as part of the Auckland City Council’s ‘Living Room’ project. She also collaborated with ten New Zealand artists on her poem, ‘The North Western Line’ to produce an exhibition for the Corban Estate Art Centre and the Going West Literary Festival.

Paula has recently completed a new collection of poems for children and three children’s stories. Random House will publish ‘The Terrible Night’ as a junior chapter book in 2008 and a sophisticated picture book ‘Aunt Concertina and Her Niece Evalina’ in 2009.
