Harrier Club—Opening Run
Harrier Club—Opening Run
Saturday, April 16, saw the first run of the Harrier Club for 1955, and about 30 runners attended at Weir House for the opening. Many of the members of last year's A and B teams were back again in singlet and shorts (with the notable exception of NZU Blue winner Peter Joyce now at CUC), while Club captain Dick Gilbert was pleased to welcome a dozen or so new members.
In an interview with "Salient" Mr. Gilbert said that he was sorry that there were not more new faces, "as harrier-running offers to the student the cheapest and most sociable winter sport available at VUC."
